It is the aim of Beck Primary School to meet the individual needs of all our children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities.
We welcome the parents of children with special educational needs and disabilities to work together with staff, to support and encourage their child’s learning. Our staff, including the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator, Mrs S Whittaker, are always willing to discuss parents’ concerns.
If your child has a learning difficulty or medical condition which over a long term may affect learning and behaviour in school, please contact Miss S Whittaker (SENCO), who is available to meet parents on Wednesday mornings or by appointment.
Many children with learning difficulties receive extra help within our school. If necessary we are able to call upon the Local Authority’s support staff and our Educational Psychologist for advice in setting up individual education programmes.
We believe that all children including those with special educational needs and disabilities should be able to progress and reach their potential in a happy secure environment. For details of how we ensure that pupils with special educational needs and disabilities are treated as favourably as all other children, please see our Equality Policy.
